How do I take a screen shot to show the Help Desk a problem? (using macOS)
Why do we do this? Screen shots can greatly help in solving a helpdesk issue because it shows exactly what the user is encountering. It can prevent complications from being lost in translation, like the saying goes “A picture is worth a thousand words”. There are a few ways this can be done, and the Shift + Command + 3 combination is one of them.
Answer
1. Bring up the webpage/email/error message etc. that is causing the difficulty, try to show the problem on the screen.
2. Press and hold the Shift + Command + 3 (the number three) keys together and then release. The screenshot will appear in the bottom right corner of the screen will save to the desktop automatically.
